Cultured Marble: How to Keep It Clean & Beautiful

Micalline cultured marble is a non-porous, durable blend of crushed stone and resin, protected by a gel coat. To keep it looking its best, use non-abrasive, pH-neutral cleaners like mild soaps or foaming bathroom sprays. Never use scouring powders, steel wool, or undiluted bleach, as these can scratch and dull the surface. Understanding Your Cultured Marble Cultured marble is man-made and waterproof—perfect for showers and baths. Cast in molds, its seamless look makes cleaning easier than natural stone. Owning a Micalline cultured marble shower brings even more durability and elegance. Our “No Leak” systems offer peace of mind, but proper care is key to enjoying that shine for years. Approved Cleaning Products Use only non-abrasive cleaners to protect the gel coat: Best Practices for Cleaning What to Do: What to Avoid: Dealing with Stains & Restoring Shine Even with care, hard water and minor scratches can occur. Removing Hard Water Stains:Mix water, white vinegar, and baking soda. Spray, let sit for up to 30 minutes, then wipe and rinse. Don’t let it dry on the surface. Restoring Shine:Use high-quality automotive paste wax or Gel-Gloss. Apply and buff following label instructions. This restores gloss and makes future cleaning easier. Troubleshooting Guide Problem Solution Hair Dye Stain Poultice with hydrogen peroxide & flour, rinse well Hard Water Deposits Mix water, vinegar, and baking soda, wipe thoroughly, then rinse Soap Scum Mild non-abrasive cleaner, soft sponge Minor Scratches Automotive polishing compound, buff gently Mold or Mildew Diluted bleach (1:10), rinse thoroughly Loss of Shine Automotive paste wax, buff Frequently Asked Questions The following are some of our most asked questions: Q: Can I use vinegar?A: Dilute with water (50/50) for hard water or soap scum. Always rinse thoroughly. Q: How do I fix scratches?A: Minor ones can often be removed with automotive polishing compound. For deep damage, consult a professional. Q: Is bleach safe?A: Never use full-strength. For heavy mold, a diluted solution (1:10 with water) is okay if rinsed off right after.
